Open Faculty Position in Materials Theory

Professor Yuan Ping Receives a 2020 AFOSR Young Investigator Award

Professor Yuan Ping was awarded a $450,000 grant by the Air Force Office of Scientific Research 2020 Young Investigator Award program to study spin relaxation effects in two-dimensional materials using first-principles calculations. Congratulations!

Professor Alex Ayzner Receives a 2019 NSF CAREER Award

Professor Alex Ayzner from the Chemistry & Biochemistry Department was awarded a 2019 CAREER award by the National Science Foundation to study soft lght-harvesting systems based on inter-conjugated polyelectrolyte complexes. Congratulations!

Professors Yuan Ping and Jairo Velasco Jr Receive NSF Grants

Professor Jairo Velasco Jr received a prestigious National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER Award in 2017 to study 2D quantum material heterostructures. Professor Yuan Ping, from the Department of Chemistry, received a major NSF grant to study materials for quantum computing. Congratulations to both!
